I'm basically a nerd in a lumberjack suit. That is to say that I look like a lumberjack (6' 1" 315 lbs., beard, fondness for blue jeans and flannel), or perhaps a retired football Center. Looks can be deceiving though, as on the inside, I'm your standard issue nerd/hacker/technologist.
I supposedly grew up in St. Louis (North County), and then "did a nickel" at University of Mo Rolla. You would think Electrical Engineering school would be a good thing for a guy like me, but I hated it mostly. Too much theory, not enough time spent zapping things.
After that I worked at Eastman Kodak for 5 years beginning the digital photography revolution that wound up taking another twenty years to actually happen.
Then I moved to California (LA first, then SF, and finally Sandy Eggo), which I expect I'll always call home from here on out.
During the week, I make my living working in the Camera group at Qualcomm (cell phones all have cameras in them these days). On the weekends, I'm either out enjoying my RV and my photography hobby, or "playing in the dirt" with my bobcat tractor on the 8.5 acres I own in the mountains East of San Diego (Julian California).
I'm a single guy, and both myself and the women of this world seem to like that arrangement just fine.
