Looking for advice on where to install newly acquired scissor jacks
My thoughts now are to go with curb side just forward of wheels and street side just behind -- due to sewer outlet in the way on that side. Midpoint of TT (excluding tongue) is just ahead of tires, so that's why I want them there, even though only curb side can be located there (and as close to tires as I can get.) Any problems with installing them this way?
Just going to use them to firm up the middle section to eliminate the bounce caused by the suspension. Camped two weekends ago, and as an experiment, I used two car scissors jacks on either side near the wheels, and the difference in was significant. Bolted on scissors should should be an even better improvement.
I realize there are better products out there, etc. but I got a deal on these jacks and looks like an easy install (they are same as corner jacks.)
Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated!

We had mid levelers installed in front of both wheels and it works nice. can see no problem with your idea as long as you don't try and lift TT. why not just mount behind should still work as they just take the spring out of the springs? good luck.

JAL,
I have a friend who has done this and he mounted both jacks in front of the tires as close as he could. Works like a charm.. with 6 scissor jacks his camper is very firm when walking around in it..
I have bounced around in it just to see.

It should work if you can get even pressure on all six jacks. Personally I perfer Rotochoks.

I installed these in front of my tires...what a difference...still get some bounce, but nothing like before...I used self tapping screws, and installed them with my 18volt DeWalt in about 10 minutes...didnt have to pre drill any holes. I have an I frame on my TT

We had room in front of our wheels so we mounted them there which is close to the center of the trailer. These do work well to eliminate some suspension bounce on long trailers. We have done this on our last two trailers.

Thanks so much for everyone's comments! I realize they are for stabilizing and not lifiting. I do side to side with beveled boards of various thicknesses and dowels to keep in place and do front to back with tongue jack. The jacks go down last and just firm up the config.
My TT frame is "I" beam, also. Scissors will be attached like ones in corner from the factory. Looks easy.
Just wanted to run it by you good folks here if I was missing something or if someone had a better idea on install location.
Thanks, again.

JAL,
Put the jacks where the instructions suggest...one on each side in the front and in the rear (4 total). Here is my write-up on the topic.

He already has those - I think he's talking about adding 2 more scissor jacks in the middle of the trailer to give more "support" and to eliminate the bounce you get from having a long trailer.
I've thought of doing the same on ours. I think it's a great idea.
Great! One more mod to add to the growing list I already can't seem to get to!

Our last trailer was 28' with a scissor jack at each corner, and doing it the way I describe on my webpage, I had no bounce and no problems. So I don't see any need to add more jacks.
