You ought to have a fabulous time. From the websites, looks like things are opening up, and as one other poster had mentioned, Little Molas Lake tends to take few campers other than tents. Big Molas below the highway takes more traffic. From the clearance in pics of your rig, South Mineral, or run up Ophir Pass from the Red Mtn. side. Shouldn't have much difficulty in finding a place to boondock. Make sure you do the Alpine Loop. Easy road as I take my TV over Engineer and Cinnamon at least a couple times a summer. I have at least one more weekend of work on my deck and some more fence, then will head that way. The San Juans are one of my favorite areas of CO.

The trip went well. Met fireman93514 & wife, from this forum, great folks. We were able to visit a bit a couple of times during our stay. They had just came from Mesa Verde and we were going there next.
However a train ambushed us ! We wound up in Chama, Nm at the old steam trains.
Here is a photo of the top of Engineer pass Colorado:

The campsite is a good one for boondocking there at the old ghost town of Eureka ! Thanks for every one's advice !

We ate a late breakfast in Lake City then returned to Eureka by way of Cinnamon Pass.
Our skid plate under the transfer case only "tapped" on rock ledges three times going over Engineer Pass. The "little stocker" seemed to handle altitude and terrain well. We pulled our Oliver camping trailer with it, both to and from Eureka:

We were above the actual pass looking down on it as the sun rose. It was magnificently breath taking, litterally ! Here is a video that I shot at the time and the altitude must have been working on me somewhat, for I missed the actual altitude by about a thousand feet ! He, he, what can I say. Another flatlander got the big eye at altitude I guess ! Here is a link to the video:
