You may want to consider installing a battery cutoff switch in the wire that feeds your DC breaker panel. This way when you leave the rig in storage you can shut down all of the small loads (like the radio memory, smoke detector, propane detector, etc.) that virtually ensure a dead battery if you don't use the rig for a while.

Yes, turning off the radio will be the same as turning off the ign sw. in a car. I did the same thing with mine and left it for a month and the battery was no more low than with the old factory radio.
