I like mule0001's answer, I have whooped my DH at Skip bo in 10 different states. LOL We just bought a new pop up, and so gave in and bought a dvd player for inclement weather....well guess what...when it is raining, and your are in a pop up...you can't HEAR a dvd player....LOLOL Anyway it helps when we put the little ones to bed before us, they can watch a movie. But we mostly sit around the fire and chit chat, or snack (popcorn, s'mores, etc) We use to have a Bop It and that was fun until the sound drives you nuts.
Anyway, enjoy and make memories, different strokes for different folks.

Looking to Make Memories
I never have to pass time when camping. Once the sun starts going down, I am ready to go to bed and sleep like a baby. I get my best sleep when camping. Even my DH and kids go to bed early. I don't know if its the peacefulness of camping, how active we are while camping, or the sounds of nature but we are all ready for bed early. We do sometimes sit around the fire or take a stroll around the campground in the moon lite.

It is just a quiet time together, away from all the "stuff". We camp to get away from the "stuff". Like telephones, television, schedules, and anything you have to plan. So camping nights, around the fire. We get to know each other again. Usually. By the time the fire goes out. You are ready for bed.
Now this sounds great, but even better when you boondock.

We usually camp in cold places, far north and the daylight lasts until 10:00pm so, by the time things get dark, it is too cold and we do not spend much night time outside. But, when it does get dark, we close the blinds and "nest up" in MH, we eat, put on jammies and pile under blankets on the sofas for a movie on the laptop. We play Spider Solitaire without a Wi-Fi hook-up.
I will read a book of fiction aloud, a few chapters each night to DH. It is a great way to share a book together.
But then sometimes. . . we knock back a few shots of cold vodka from frozen glasses, dim the lights, open the windows and share our RNR with the wilderness which surrounds us. Then we dance for them. LOL
We dont have any time during camping that we have to worry about finding something to do, especially after dark. It seems like there are so many thing to do, we have trouble deciding what not to do.=-(.

We take a TV with us to watch the news and for the weather. In bad weather the TV covers storms much better than radio stations do. I read and take lots of books, my husband does both crossword and puzzles. I do needlepoint and sew.
We have several games to take along. I go prepared for a week of rain but often do not need any of these things.
