Just saw on the news that about 50% of the people who bought tickets to up-coming golf tournaments have asked for a refund since Tiger won't be there... WOW - talk about an impact.

Good, maybe I'll go to a few tournaments now since they won't be so crowded.

The tournaments will also be more interesting because you won't know who is going to win ahead of time. I know they will be more interesting on tv because they will now have to show highlights of other players instead of worshiping Tiger for 4 solid hours.

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

The only reason I watched Golf the past 11 years or so was to watch Tiger Woods so I guess I will wait for his return before I watch again.

Ya musta missed Monday's U.S. Open Playoff?!

Shows how borrrrrrrringgggggggg the sport is without Tiger--he's the greatest of all time.

I agree, maybe I'll start watching mens golf on TV again. Have you watched the LPGA recently, these gals can play and there's definitely some Eye Candy out there. Tiger is a phenominal talent but he isn't a god like all the TV pundits want you to believe. True he has played all of his life but he didn't ever have to pay his dues as in being a Monday qualifier, don't even believe he had to go to Q-school. Nicklaua was the same when in his prime, I quit watching then, just plain boring and his style of play was just like Tiger's. Even the dour Gary Player & Bernhard Langer have more personality than those 2. If you've ever been in the gallery following Arnie, Merry Mex, ChiChi, The Shark, Payne Stewart, Ray Floyd, and many others, you know what entertainment is and what " Shoot the Moon" means.

Like many of my friends I thought watching golf on TV was boring until I started playing it 20 years ago.

Today's Pro(s) like Tiger and Lorena Ochoa have brought the game to a new level. Its all about performance in a highly competitive game, if you don't play well you don't get paid. I don't see them as "one-man-bands", especially since golf in not a team sport.
They just happen to be the cream at the top in their game, today.
