Like many of my friends I thought watching golf on TV was boring until I started playing it 20 years ago.
Today's Pro(s) like Tiger and Lorena Ochoa have brought the game to a new level. Its all about performance in a highly competitive game, if you don't play well you don't get paid. I don't see them as "one-man-bands", especially since golf in not a team sport.
They just happen to be the cream at the top in their game, today.
If you haven't been to an LPGA tournament I highly recommend it. For watching a tournament in person it is much more entertaining. They are not as crowded so you can actually see the play, and the girls are pretty amazing in what they can do. They are not as powerful of hitters as the men are, but they make up for it with accuracy.

I have seen the same reports. However, the number of people asking for refunds are "no where near 50%!!!!!!" Yes it is a problem for the PGA but inaccurate post such as yours does not help. I will also miss him but still watch.
