We are still here. I know heat. I lived in the arm pit of TX for many years and lived on the east coast with that horrid humidity. For the past 10 months I have been spoiled and lived near the beach.. Ahh to be spoiled.

I know this may be too late for you, but one trick I have learned from riding my Harley on 100-degree days is to put a bandana on your head, neck, or whatever, after having soaked it in cool water. If there's any breeze at all, it will give your body a nice cooling effect. Until it dries, of course...... Then just re-wet and repeat. Hope this helps.
