othertonka, I'd like to know where you can get a campsite with electricity for $18.00

You can get full hook-ups at Ebenzer park in Rock Hill, SC for $15.00 a night for out of the county residence.

And if a Senior, its $10 a night, we stayed 2 weeks last year.

If you belong to C2C (350 campgrounds) and/or RPI (Some duplicates, but then you can book time with C2C for two weeks, and RPI for 2 weeks, it is $10 a night, no extra charge for electric. With ROD membership, ($139 a year) you stay free for two weeks at a time, 7 days out, you can stay another two weeks.

Of course you need a Campground Membership to purchase them.
(Have heard C2C has a trial membership for one year, without a campground membership, but do not know if that is true. People would have to check with them.)

GOT ONE WHLE TROLLING, FISHING IS SURE GOOD AT WALMART.

Ha ha. Good one. *Almost* as good as the fake power/water hookup pole some people have been using.

Wyoming WM
Check out the electric and water hookups next to the light pole behind this C. There must have been no sewer hookup since the gray is all over the lot.

Corps of Engineers, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, City, County and State Parks across much of the country plus hundreds of Passport America, Happy Camper or CampClub USA participating parks just to name a few. The commercial parks do often have restrictions on when they offer the 50% discounts.

save your breath, like they say you can lead a horse to water but can't make them do something or other. You can show everybody tons of places at $15.00 a night and then they will whine and want it to be $7.50 or they will just pull into a Wal-Mart resort.

My parents have spent hundreds of nights in Kmarts, Walmarts, and other lots over the last 30+ years with no incidents, and I've done it many times with my family, and my only concerns have been noisy insomniac shoppers, streetsweepers, and bright lights. I have a Black Lab that is very protective of the kids, and gives us extra peace of mind.

Heck, I bet many would even be willing to pay a few bucks for the use of their lots, because it's not just a matter of cost--it's the convenience. We can head out on a Friday night after work and after the traffic clears with no worries about groceries; get a few miles out of the way, and grab a few hours of sleep. I also enjoy private campgrounds--But even if they were free, I wouldn't necessarily go looking for one while enroute.

"it's not just a matter of cost--it's the convenience. "

yep, cost doesn't enter into the equation at all.
