One of ours is we like to loadup and drive around the campground and other surrounding Campgrounds ( We usually Stay at Corps Parks so there are usually 3 or 4 around any given lake) and we look at the different Camper RV and tenters and admire their campsites and décor while camping DW says I'm gaudy but I know she secretly enjoys the lites wind decorations flags US & POW I just aint to sure she goes for the Pink Flamingos I luv the snarl on her face when they come out of the box We also love to circle the CG at nite some are like some are like looking at Christmas Lights they are decorated so well

While the DW's sleep in, my buddy and I like to ride around the area for yard sales.

Here is a pic for your DW's secret passion.

We like to scope out the sites, looking for better ones for the next time we want to go back. You know this one has more grass and shade, or that one is flatter and easier to get into. Or, this cul-de-sac, has just the right amount of spots for all of us!

We do the same looking at which sites we would like and noting them on our maps. Lately when we go to another COE cg to see if we would like to stay there sometime the gate attendant wants to charge us just to drive through. It's usually $3 or $4 and sometimes they will let us go on through when I tell them we just want to see if it is someplace we want to come back to. But others will not. Those that won't I just tell them I don't think it is a place I want to come back to anyway. Am I being cheap? Would you pay just to drive through?

If you are staying at another campground and paying for it heck no I'm not going to pay to drive around and look COE does have a day use fee now but if you are not using the boat ramp or swimmin hole you shouldn't be charged I don't think. I have had the oppurtunity to get to know a few of the campground attendents and most are very friendly but some are real BH's too I think if some are trying to charge a day use fee to drive around and look at campsites they may be pocketing the money but I don't know Different parks different attendents

We drive thru campgrounds all the time, even just going on a day trip with the family. Last weekend we checked out two on the coast and picked one we want to come back to and even sites to ask for.

I like to cruise around the campground with the kids on our bikes to check out everyone's sites and stuff. Voyeurism at its best!

We hike but we love to drive thru other campgrounds and write down what sites we like plus those that are not too bad. There are too many parks that there are no sites we would take.
We check the local newspapers for concerts, etc when we are staying for several weeks.
