If you use the portable a/c unit (not the window type) how do you vent your hose(s)?

You could just hang it out your door and zip up around it as much as you can. That's what I do in my PUP. I vent it out the window and zip the canvas up around it as much as I can, then I stuff towels or something around it where the zipper won't come together. That prevents cold air from escaping and keeps the hot vented air from coming back in.

Here's a couple of shots of how I do it:

It's not exactly the same as a tent, but it's not too different either. In fact, I plan on using it in my tent later this year.

When we had a pop up, we had a dual hose 9000 btu portable AC. It could cool a 400 sq ft room. With built in heater! If it's not too late, the dual hose ones are about 3 times more efficient than the single hose units. The Delonghi brands have a long 5 year warranty compared with 90 days that some brand have. We vented the dual hoses into a unused cabinet, installed a 12" by 14" furnace type grille to the outside wall, and the hot air vented to the exterior. Worked great even in the 110 degree desert heat! And the bonus is that you can use it at home, too!

Thanks for the info and pics.
We bought a portable a/c with dual hose. I told dh to vent it out the door but he was not convinced. He was afraid of bugs/critters getting in thru the gaps.
With your replys he is willing to try it! We will try it out July 4the w/e.
