Living and camping in Arizona during the summer months can be a hassle when trying to keep food and beverages cool for any length of time. And I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t tend to camp near OK’s or convenience stores where Ice is available. I’m usually many miles from these stores and the ones that are closest are mom and pop shops where ice can be very expensive. I was looking for a way to help increase my ice and ran across these Cooler Insulators. Haven’t seen anything like them and they work great; my ice has never lasted so long. Definitely a product I’d recommend to anyone that utilizes a cooler in hot areas where Ice isn’t readily available.

Looks like Reflectix. I've thought about wrapping some around my cooler.

Actually some of the new Coleman and Igloo coolers have sufficient cooling and ice retention features such as thermal barriers and next generation insulation, that 7 days is not unheard of. Just putting your Ice Chest indoors or at least in the shade will help a lot, too!

I've used reflectrix and duct tape to make cooler cozies.

Yeah, Coleman makes a great 5 day cooler that does keep ice frozen for 5 days. Especially if you pre-cool the food before you put in the ice chest.

Just wanting to share a good item like many other posts on here. What is a good way to start? Saying hi without sharing any useful information?

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome, 66Bronco, it is hard to do a first post or the first ten for that matter. I am sure my first few were pitiful - just no one said so. Thanks to you that read them. I was not aware of a product like this and needed one just this weekend - where were you last week??? Thanks!

Yeah, for those of us that live in the extreme heat, can’t afford cushy RV’s, but still don’t want to miss out on quality family time (let’s face it, we only get 18 summers) need gadgets as these to make the experience as enjoyable as possible and create memories for our kids.

Now if I can find a tent to help in this heat! I started a new thread for those of you that may have some input:
