They told me I wouldn't need a different hitch, because my truck has air suspension in the back, and it always keeps it at the same height, no matter the weight, does that make sense?
thanks for the info, I will be camping in the back yard this weekend, so I will look into this other stuff

We are new to pups also, and this site has helped me out many times. We purchased an 04 Sequoia Fleetwood Highlander for Christmas. The first time we had it out in March, the battery cables were crossed, on ours the black is the positive (weird). Then our converter would not come on. (thanks to the dealer, I guess someone borrowed our fuse to it) Also, if your half door has a lock like ours does and you have curious kids or prankster visitors, you might find it comforting to lock that lock right away. On ours it can be locked without a key, then your stuck trying to figure out who was stupid enough to lock you in, when it was designed that way. Enjoy your Camper I thought it would be overwelming but after 2 trips I feel like a pro

I actually thought of locking that door at night so my son can't wander away, he is a little explorer lol. we could still reach out by moving the screen door or reaching out thru the velcro I think.
We will be testing it all out on Friday, I can't wait!!
Campingfools wrote: Regarding Fleetwoodmac's faucet problem, I have a theory. I was packing my 07 Niagara today (getting ready to go our east for the Fourth) and took a hard look at the set up. There's nothing on the tenting that could "hook" the faucet. But, if the faucet was push back and to the side, instead of pointing toward the front of the sink, and the bunk was closed, the matress would hit and slide under the end of the faucet and I'll bet, break it off.
I've never had any reason to suspect the faucet could be snagged by the tenting and the idea of having to take it off to close the PUP just doesn't ring true.
Nope, heard the "POP" when we were cranking up the roof. Like I said, never tried it again without taking it off. Maybe a one in a million kind of thing, but not willing to gamble!

While doing the walk-through for our trailer at the dealer, our daughter closed the half-door and turned the handle, she didn't lock it, but we got stuck inside with the guy giving us the walk-through. He had to have someone come over and get us out!! Pretty funny!
One thing I learned on first times out, is the tires are ST tires and you might already know this. The side of the tire has the MAX pressure just like regular automobile or truck tires, except on the ST trailer tires the air pressure must be at the MAX pressure when towing, not like trucks or cars where you can adjust the pressure to suit the load and ride you want. Otherwise you end up ruining a set of tires right away, or having a blow out. Nice pop up, you will have alot of great times in it I am sure.

Congrats. We have a new 2008 Niagara also. It is our second Pup and second fleetwood. We just got back from a 12 day trip from MD to Florida and the FL Keys. We had a fabulous time and nary a problem. The first night we had no power to the pup to raise the roof. I still don't know 4 sure why. The dealer thinks it is a fuse in my TV. We had the 'frige on battery that day so it could be. We ran the frige on propane the rest of the trip and never had a problem again.
My wife modified the curtain in the shower by taking off the cheapo plastic one and sewing on a hotel type fabric one (actually 2 sewed together). Got the idea here. Mostly we use the camp bathrooms for a shower unless they are horrible. We are frequently at State Parks and are not on full hook up. With a family of four the grey water fills in 3 days.
Make sure you do have a sway bar. It is a necessity. I learned that the first time my daughter put it on, and I didn't check to be sure it was tight. While huge, it is EZ to tow. We had no issues at all the entire trip. The brakes are a little grabby at first.
Enjoy and welcome to a forum filled with great people with great ideas.
