Well we made a safe trip from Indiana to the Grand Canyon. I could write forever, but I will try not to. We had a great time the DW, DS,DD, and myself. Towing our 33ft Pilgram lite, with a 05 F150. About 800 in fuel out there and running around. Haven't done the numbers on the way back yet. We stayed in the camp ground in the park. There is not much outside of the park, to do that is. We did do a litle riding off road on a open ranch, trying to get to the bottom, but the wife yelled at me 3 times not to go down this one part of the trail, so I didn't. But if we where in my jeep, she would have been sitting under a tree with a few drinks while the kids and I went. We went to the Painted dessert, the petrified forest, the meteor crator, went over the Hoover dam, and into Vegas for dinner. It was the best 2 weeks ever. Alot trips on the short sections on route 66. We made it back Sat, and this morn my DS was off on a Boy Scout camping trip out to VA, for a mountain man camp. So he was excited to get away from us all, well mainly his chores that have stacked up for 2 weeks. Now I guess I have to change my name on here. Loved the trip, and hated coming home, but yet I am glad to be here. Going back to work sucks. But will give me time to plan the next trip.

Here we are at the Meteor Crator, well the rig.

Here we have our DS and DD. She must be practicing for the Wheel of Fortune, and the DS just being his tough and grumpy self.

Living at the SE end of the state we get there often.
It's a shame there is not more there to do and it's pretty remote.
I don't like the rates nowadays to get in either!
It's still worth the trip every time I go.

We have many pics. Still in the process of going through them. With our back woods land line it will take forever to load, but I will try to get a few of the better ones into photobucket, and try to make a link.

Not much to do is for sure, unless you go to Flagstaff. Or another big city. But I could spend a lifetime running around the Canyon. I know there has to be some awesome places that are easily accessed outside the park. And driving on the open range was really cool. Told the DW I always wanted to live out west, since my trip with the Army to 29 Palms. No grass to mow, and build a house right, and in the right area and A/C may not even be needed. Just a different lifestyle. Maybe a wind generator and a few solar panels. Just so cool to see the country side change as go. From trees and hills, to mountains canyons.

Thank you for sharing that. What beautiful pictures to wake up to.

Good for you and that wonderful trip with your family. Now that you're home it's time to start planning another one.

Memories of being on the road with my family will always be some of the most cherished memories in my life, I'm sure the same will be true for you and your family.

I've been to the canyon twice (once with each of my daughters) and loved it each time - vista's are awesome and although the pictures and postcards do a good job - it's not the same as being there and feeling the canyon.

How did the f150 do pulling your trailer around the canyon?I have been wanting to take the trip, but wasn't sure how the f150 would handle the hills.
