Went on our first camping trip with our 2008 Rockwood Roo 23B. Had problem folding our ends in, could not figure out how to fold up with mattress snapped down without forcing ends in. We ended up taking the mattress' out and then put them in after end was secured from outside.
Can anyone tell us how they do it so we can try it that way and not end up so frustrated.
Thanks

I do mine differently. I fold the "hoop" down onto the mattress before folding the mattress. Then I lay the whisker pole along side the hoop. Then I fold the mattress over both pieces of hardware.
This is important. After the mattress is folded slide it toward the end of the bunk until the hoop hits the crease in the mattress. By doing this you create a space for the canvas to tuck into at the bottom of the bunk near the hinge. When you have the bunk folded up to about a 45 degree angle you will see the space on the bottom for the canvas. The rest is is obvious. I wish my dealer had shown me this but I had to figure it out by trial and error. I tried Chuck's way but I like mine much better. The bunk folds with much less effort. With practice it will become very easy.

Folding the bow into the fold of the mattress started wearing a hole on ours, hence leaving the bow outside of it.
On mine, despite the first photo, I don't push the folded mattress into the trailer body but leave it out at the end of the door and let it slide in and down as I lift the door. At a couple feet up the tentage gets folded into the body and the mattress starts to slide. This is pretty much like ATB describes. The photo is three years old but still shows the general tent folding arrangement. Wasn't intended to be an instructional series of photos.

I put the tent frame metal pole underneath the mattress as was shown to me by our dealer. I do this for both front and rear bunks. I then twist the the cloth that attaches to my snaps before snapping to make them shorter, then snap the mattress down.
One important point. For the front bunk, I have to have the slide out and have the couch unfolded into the "bed" mode. I push the bunk end up, then fold the bed back into the couch. The mattress than pushes up with the folded couch. This seems to work every time with out trying to force the bunks close.
Just go back from a 2 nighter with my family with our 23 B. Let me know if this works for you!

We have a Shamrock 23B, same as the Roo and ours folds just like Chuck's first photo. We undo the velcro, unsnap all of the buttons, fold the tent in towards the middle and then push up on the bunk ends while we push the edges in past the molding. Haven't had any difficulties yet, and far as I can tell, no excess wear on the tentage or mattresses. The ends fold up real easy and the latches close up no problem.

we do the same thing. we folded the narrower front section of the mattress over the U-shaped bow. then we wrap the side straps around the outside of the bow and then snap the side straps down. this helps support the mattress more and also helps prevent movement. it also locks in the u-shaped bow.

Sent these in an email today to a new roo owner -- figured I might as well post them here too.
store the pole

bow pole goes between the mattress or on top -- your choice

after unsnapping the buttons and undoing the bungees - I get the bungees together and wrap them in with the pole

snap the mattress to keep it from sliding down

push/fold the tentage in

make sure nothing is in the way of the seal

it isn't purty but it'll do

no problem - just make sure you do it a couple of times at the walk through and then a few more at home - it's much better to work the kinks out BEFORE getting to the CG
