The only place I found that new type "Mercon SP" fluid at is the Ford dealer. Has anyone found another source? $13.75 per quart is quite stiff.

A word of caution to you Torque-Shift owners. We are instructed not to substitude any other fluid, so if you are short while on the open road, you'd better have a couple quarts on-hand.

That's the same place I purchased mine, Ron. Some of the auto parts places seem confused, so I got it from a Ford dealer.

And I was snarling about the cost of Chrysler's ATF... nearly half price!

Take a look at the container and see if there is reference to a "TES-*** number. That is a industry number that will identify it. For example TES-295 is a synthetic ATF. A common brand is Castrol Transyn but any fluid with that number is the same spec.

Thank You! $5.30 per quart (including shipping) when purchasing a case of 12 is reasonable.
