BFL13- I'm trying your method. I stopped the desulf this morning and tried charging the batteries. Wouldn't take anything, FULL. Then I tried to charge again and got FULL. Now it's on DES desulf. This way the cycles will finish in the AM. I will try 3 full DES cycles now with recharge in between. Then I will wait a few days and see what happens. I have a beach trip planned for next Friday. I can stop at CW if necessary and pickup 2 new batteries. Hoping it won't be necessary.
Thanks.

Went out this morning and tried to recharge batteries, they are still full. Then I started the 2nd DES desulfation 24 hour cycle. Will do the same thing tomorrow. Sunday I will check for better SG and again on Monday and Tuesday.

IMO the overcharge method would be superior than taking days and days with the pulse method, since you get it done in one day. I don't have a charger that will do that though.
I did get a manual trickle charger that I use in combination with the 24cycles of pulsing. It only does one amp and will bring the batteries to the high 14s in voltage. So when the Vectors at 2amp setting won't run, but go to "full" immediately, the 1 amp trickle can squeeze a few amps in there between pulsing sessions. 2 amps is too much at once sometimes.
I tried just putting the batteries on my 7355 converter in the trailer for this , which will do very low amps, below 1 amp, but unfortunately it only goes to 13.8volts which is too low a voltage for temperatures around here most of the time so I lost ground instead of gaining any.
If you do this a lot IMO it would be well worth getting a manual charger (or some charger that will do it) and using the overcharge method of desulfation and save a lot of time and bother

BFL13-I had a motorcycle battery charger 1 amp that I bought years ago, Threw it out a few months ago. Never fails. Could have used my old converter/charger, that was good at cooking batteries.
Since I stopped the first DES cycle after 14 hours and started your method, can I stop after this cycle which will be 2 1/2 cycles or should I do another cycle which would be 3 1/2 cycles. Reason is that I need to start getting everything ready for the beach trip end of next week this weekend. Hard to get ready during the work week.

The first step in battery problems is to have them load tested. For deep cycle batteries go to a good battery shop as auto stores don't know how to spell deep cycle. Bad batteries can cause all kinds of interesting problems.
Sounds like you have a charging problem while driving. What kind of isolator do you have? Diode and solenoid based are common. But with either system both banks should be charging while you are driving.
I installed a Vector VE080 charger to maintain the chassis battery during storage.

Yes, the 24hr cycle is just a run time. You can run it as long or as short a time as you like. I suppose it is a cumulative effect so the total time over a few days is what counts.

As far as keeping the engine battery charged for a month at a time, what about a trickle charger that I can plug in side the MH and plug into the cigarette ligther?

There are two kinds of trickle chargers
Usually when one says "Trickle Charger" They mean an unregulated slow charger, These can, over time, actually DAMAGE a battery
Now a Battery Tender.. Won't do that
But it costs more
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Both the Battery Minder and the Vector mentioned above have the adapters.

Update- the DES cycle has finished and I checked the SG. All over the place. Battery 1 had some down to 1225 touching the red to one of the cells at 1265 touching the green. Battery 2 was mostly 1225 to 1250. I will check it later to see what's happening.
