Our TT has an outside port to hook up cable TV but that jack does not work when hooking up a portable dish. My question is how to install another cable TV port on the outside of the TT so I could attach the cable from the dish to the exterior of the TT and then run cable with the TT to the area of the TV. Where on the TT would be best..underneath and then run cable???

There is a duplexer tee that you can put in the outside cable coax before the Winegard power booster that will let you use the same outside coax for either one. Sadly I did a favorites house cleaning yesterday and deleated the link I had for it. Someone will hopefully jump in here and post a link for it. You run a short jumper from one side of the duplexer back to the Antenna amp and the other side will pass power back to the antenna and you hook that side to the sat receiver. Quite clever.

Here's a link to the mod using the existing cable in the RV to connect the dish to the receiver.

I just looked at the link and I think the duplexer would be a lot easier.

I didn't really understand the link, so I went to radio shack and purchased 2 of the nipples that your cable screws into. I drilled a hole on the outside of the trailer and installed one of the nipples, then I did the same thing on the inside of the trailer near where the TV sits. I connected the two nipples with a short section of coax cable (also from radio shack). It works fine and is a neat looking installation.

I did this mod yesterday and took me about an hour it was really simple the only hard part was making the opening bigger in the wall but not that difficult

I installed the nipples, one for cable and one for satellite in the refer access panel with some slack so the panel would hang should I need to remove it. Most refers have access to the interior of the trailer for the gas and electric lines. Of course if your refer is no where near your TV or on the opposite of the trailer this might not be the way to go.

you can buy the kits at most rv stores(outside box, connecror, short length of cable)
i added 2 but usually use one. i put one outside where the cabinet for the dvd player is, use a splitter after the sat box and ran another coax to the bedroom tv. this is so the 2nd tv slaves off the livingroom tv.(also got the remote extenders from radio shack so the remote works in the bedroom)
i added the 2nd connector for the 2nd tv by a storage unit. when i bring 2nd sat box i just have to unplug the slave cable then hook up from the connector. i tried using an a/b switch but didn't want to work that way-probably need different type but i had this one laying around(and still is )most of the time i use the 1 box but like now, when we are gone for a while, i bring the 2nd box.
this way i left the cable in and bat wing in normal condition in case i ever needed them(radio runs through bat wing-dumb idea-basically helps the FM only-like to change that but so far haven't found a correct replacement for it) plus i'm not sure if you could run 2 boxes of the built in setup
