My wife has acid reflux and at home we have raised the head of our bed. Has anyone done this in their toy haulers? We have a queen bed with storage underneath it. I am thinking about building a wedge to put on the bed frame and in under the mattress. Suggestions?

I say take the whole cover/top matress support off and build the wedge on the frame then lay the top back down as before. There will be no need to build an entire frame with support for the matress if using the existing top.

have you tried Gaviscon before you go to bed at night? My Dr. had me start on it and it has done a lot for me. I no longer need to sleep on the wedge. the Gaviscon coats the opening to the stomach and cuts back on the burning

Old Guy, the DW was on medication but we found by just raising our bed by the thickness of on brick she doen't need any medication anymore. so we figure no med is better than some meds if it can be helped. I have been on line and there sure are a lot of different varieties. I really was thinking of just raising the head by 3 inches. That should be doable without to much trouble. I actually sleep better with my head raised also.

I saw someone ( on here I think) that built a simple riser that added height and storage to his flip up bed. I think they even angled it too. It would be really easy to just use the same type construction the bed is on now, but higher and angled, fitted inside the original. Move the hinge and supports to the new piece and you are all set. If you are clever how its attached, you could remove it if you sell the trailer and leave no trace behind...
