I am curious as to how many miles the "average" RVer puts on their rig in a single year or season.

I'm not really sure about us, but I think we have put about 12,000 miles on our current coach in 3 seasons, so I will estimate 4500 miles max per season.

The main reason I'm curious is because I figure that since we average 7MPG, that means we average about 643 gallons of gas per season. Gas is up about $1.50/gal this year over last year, which means it is costing us $964 more to travel about the same this year as we did last year. This is just RV miles, not commuter miles or anything else.

How about the rest of you?

Around 3,500 to 4,000 sounds about like what we do. Half of that in one trip, and then as many weekends as we can to our fav. local spot.

Last year (1st year with our B) put on 17,000 miles. This year so far have put on 4,000 miles. We love our B and hope to put on many more miles this year and in the years to come. It does help to be retired as we can come and go as we please.
Happy travels.

We toe the 5er about 12,000 a year. This year, we are behind for health issues.

Bought our MH 7/04 with 17K miles. Now at 38K, so 20K in 4 seasons, about 5K average / yr, close to yours. I get 4 weeks vacation a yr, which are all spent out on the RV'in road. Add in weekends here and there, and thats it.

Don't care about how much extra we're spending, just that we're seeing more places and spending time together !

We have averaged 17,000 per year since 1999. Of course, this is part time. Wish we could do it more.

I have never kept track exactly but based on the fact that we use our Rv nearly every week end except for about 3 month out of the year when it is just to cold around here to keep water from freezing in the tanks. We uausaly will travel 150 to 200 miles one way. I would say we run about 10,000 a year (do't tell my insurance agent)
My RV gets 9 miles a gallon. At $4.00 a gallon we would spend $4445.00 this year if my math is right.

We have averaged about 18,000 a year over the past two years. We Rv about 9 months a year. There is so much to see in this country and we hope to see most of it before we have to hang it up..

I want to leave this earth quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the hysterical, screaming passengers riding in granddad's RV just before the big crash.

We did 51,000+ on the last rig in 3 years, and the new one has 7,200 on it. We took delivery February 1. Needless to say, if we buy it, we USE it. No plans to cut back, but no Alaska this summer due to grandkids graduating. Next year for sure.
