I have to work over July 4th, but the wife wanted to go camping. She's been pulling our 5er on our trips and learning how to hook up and disconnect so she can go on her own trips if she ever decided to. So... she decided to this weekend. She's taking the kids down to the coast this weekend so they can watch the fireworks over the water. Maybe it's the redneck in me, but I'm swelled up with pride that she hooked the thing up and drug it off herself.
Just wanted to share.
Here's the vid of them leaving this evening.

Too cool. You obviously taught her well. Wish I could get my DW to do something like that. I wouldn't know whether to smile, spit, or swallow I'd be so proud of 'er. I gotta work tomorrow too.

My dw drives at least a couple of times a season at the very least, in case I get sick we can get back home. She can also go by herself if she wanted, I guess it gives her a good feeling to.

Yeah, this is the first trip without dad, they're about 50 miles from the house. She just called and said they're there and setup. Making the video and posting it kept me occupied while they were driving and didn't give me time to worry. Thanks RV.net.
Sele, she wanted to learn to drive for a similar reason as well. Since we live on the coast hurricanes are a possibility. My job prevents me from leaving during a hurricane but she can load up and be gone and always have a place to stay.

No way my DW would go camping by her self or get behind the wheel towing our 34 ft TT ! But to go over seas like she did with her girl friends thats another story. She was gone for 28 days. Camping is a lot cheaper !

I'm happy for your bride and kids. I hope one of these days that news like this is something we look back on and laugh. My wife can do it all and drive about 40% of the time. We FT and we're amazed at the number of women that don't drive or have much anything to do with the rig. I just don't understand this. I do all the same thing she does (except give birth) why couldn't females do the same thing we do? Imagine a day when it wouldn't make any difference if it was a male or female making a solo run. One can only dream as this is the 21st century!

I have to work tomorrow as well. I don't think my mom would do something like that! And we even have a little pup.
Your wife is a BEAST! A very good reason to be proud of her!
