We are in a State Park in NC. Two sites near us are vacant. The swimming area was not very busy yesterday (July 4th).

Lots of RV's on the road here. Campgrounds seem as full as ever. Suspect people are selecting spots closer to home.
Come visit us at our website and share in our great fulltime RV Adventure.

On our way to Utah, we noticed a little more RV s on the road than we have observed before.
Where we are at is about 1/2 ful.
Walking around the campground, we see plates from all over.
Infact, there are more from out of state than local.

On our drive back from Florida last week I counted 9 RVs in 400 miles. Of course we do not do interstates. This route was US301 to Folkston, GA where we took US1 to our home. I don't know if this was any kind of indication as to more or less RV travel. Throughout the drive the average gas price was in the $3.90 range and diesel was in the $4.50 range. Again, I don't know if this comment even fits this thread. Anyway, you all have a great trips to wherever you are going. Happy trails. Larry G.

Went through 2 campgrounds yesterday and both were full but almost all were Illinois plates. Didn't talk to anybody but wondered if they were just out for the long holiday.

We get an email blast from a local RV resort/campground earlier this week that sites were still available for the fourth. In the past, you needed to reserve a year in advance for a big holiday weekend. That say's a whole bunch to me. To the OP, glad things are great in your state of Colorado. Things are not so good here in New York.

Here in NY they are reporting that reservations are up this year. In Saturdays paper they were saying State Parks in Jefferson County were full for the holiday weekend. They stated the reservation rate was 82% this year compared to 76% last year. The statewide rate was 88% compared to 74% last year. The fire station I work out of is on a busy intersection and we see RVs going by all day long.

And how many of those RV's passing past your firehouse in northern New York State have Canadian plates on them ? I'd venture a guess that at least 80%.

Campgrounds were full where I was at this weekend. At least one campground had trailers parked in yard part where children normally play. "All the da*n tourists" made traffic a nightmare since approx 7am this morning. Sorry locals, I was one of them!
