Happy 4th of July!
I have a trip coming up and we're taking a guest. It looks like sleeping on the U dinette bed may come up. This is in my 2007 Starcraft 2406.
I don't know his actual weight but he's a big guy pushing maybe 350 lbs. I know many travel trailers don't actually have a separate bed but rely on dinettes and sofa as the primary sleeping area. I would hope that these areas could at least hold 1000 lbs. Being my U Dinette is a smaller double bed for 2, I would hope it would hold up to 1000 lbs.
Anyone have any positive or negative experiences??
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Have a good one.

I've heard of the tables breaking in half if too much weight is put on them, but the cushions should "cushion" some of that weight. I would say that it is just fine to let him sleep on it. It should hold 350 lbs.

I'd be cautious. My brother had a table bed break when a 225# guy "plunked" himself down on it. Of course it was an older model and the table was only supported on the two sides, not the two ends and side like yours is. I know some of the cushions in some trailers are now reinforced with metal, but I'd look into some other kind of support on the outer edge for someone that big.

Thanks everyone. I'm 230 lbs and I've had the dinette made up for traveling. I've left it made up in bed mode several times and climbed on and over it while setting up. I've had all of my weight center on the table and it's never budged.
Now the table does have some support members screwed and glued on so I'm assuming this is for sleeping.
I've also heard of older models giving out but this model seems to be made for weight. I was hoping others out there with a newer PUP had either positive or negative stories while having 1 or 2 adults sleeping on their dinette bed.
I may just call Starcraft and see what they say.
Thanks everyone, and have a good one.

Mike Up,
I was checking out your pictures of your PUP. Very nice. I noticed your photos said Kenlake Park.
Where you staying at Kenlake park in Aurora, KY? That's my neck of the woods.
Just curious. Can't imagine that there's another Kenlake somewhere!
EDIT: I see now that if I had looked at your exterior photos, you point out that you were indeed in KY. KY Lake can be a beautiful place to camp. We've got dozens and dozens of great campgrounds around here. Hope you had a good time!

Our table broke with my 89 pound 11 year old sleeping on it. We ordered a new table and now use a piece of plywood for sleep time.

It's the State Park in Hardin, KY. Looks like it is near you in Hardin. I was there visiting Land between the lakes and had a great time. Plan to go back soon.
Have a good one.

Yeah, I guess it could be Hardin, I've always thought of it as Aurora, though.
The next time you come in you have to go to Belew's Drive In for a cheeseburger and rings! They've taken greasy to perfection! It's a drive-in, but they've got a covered area to sit under as well. My kids (and me and DW) love it.
Glad to hear you had a good time! There's lots to do and see down on the TN end of KY Lake as well.

Personally, for someone who is on the large side I would cut a piece of 1" or 3/4" plywood or structurewood to fit the area and sleep on that.

I broke my table and I weigh 280. Be careful, if the man really weighs 350, you may be buying a new table.
