We are considering buying the Jayco 213, but are concerned with the tank holding capacities. We like the Outback 21RS because it does have the larger capacity, but prefer the Jayco. Is it possible/easy to increase the size of the tanks?
Jayco 213 Fresh water capacity (gals.) includes water heater 30.5
Gray wastewater capacity (gals.) 30.5
Toilet/black wastewater capacity 22.5
These capacities should be adaquate for most camping needs. You can add a larger tank, or even a 2nd fresh or gray tank. The 213 is about the same as our Jayflight 5er, and we camp with 2 kids. If not, get a 20 gallon blue tote!
I agree. Our Komfort also has similar tank sizes and we love it because we do a lot of drycamping. If you plan on spending all of your time at full hookup private parks, then tank size is of little importance.
I have better things to do when I am on vacation than to fool around with a blue tote because my trailer comes with tiny tanks. I don't own a blue tote and never needed one.
Fact is, when we went shopping for a trailer, that was one thing we didn't even pay attention to. I have appreciated my good fortune ever since..
BTW it also came with shocks which are worth their weight in gold.
Yes you can add larger tanks, not very difficult. But you have to ask yourself what type of camping you will be doing.

If you are dry camping you may want to get a extra tank or look at another brand.
However, if you will be camping in a CG with a dump station, honey wagon service or full hookups then the tank size really doesn't matter at all. My wife and I have 2 kids, so there's no dry camping. We have to shower the two little dirt-loving brat's nightly!
