How do you get your digital camera to NOT take pictures that are 3,000 x 3,000 pixels? I have to resize each and every one of them all the time to send them to friends via mail or web page. I looked in the menu but they use terms I don't understand.

I have an Olympus Fe330.

To tell you what I do. I use Picasa2, When I want to email them, I click on there little Icon on the bottom, it will automatically downsize the out going picture to about 75k, This doesn't effect the quality of the original picture. JM2Cents Bill

I like to use the hightest pixel count when I take my pic's.

I know you can easily resize them in photobucket too. And share them online if you want.

That way you get high quality pictures to keep in case you want to use them for yourself.

Should be something along these lines:

  • Push "MENU" button, and use the up arrow button to highlight "IMAGE QUALITY"
  • Push "OK" button. A chart of image quality settings should be displayed.
  • Use down arrow button until you highlight the image size you want.
  • Push "OK" button.

An Olympus FE-330 owners manual is available here.

Heres what I use, Photo Resizer . You just change the name to whatever dpi you want and drag your photo over the icon and it resaves it to the same file name plus the dpi at the end of the file name.

If you have Microsoft "Picture Manager", there's an edit function that will allow you to resize and/or compress your pictures.

I only have 2 sizes 5m and compression that show up to click. And both of them are big!
opps on edit if I click to the right on each one I get more choices thanks. btw what should the compression button be on fine or normal?

This sounds like a good one. BUT when you download it did it put a bunch of junk stuff on your computer along with it like most free downloads, I'm always leery of that and I just got a new laptop and would like to try to keep it clean.

Normal will give you the smallest "file" size. The Photo size itself will remain the same regardless of whether set at fine or normal.

Freeware: IrfanView. No "extras" spyware and the like. I have used it for years for viewing and batch editing.
