We just got back from a two week trek down south. While gone we operated the bedroom slide in & out four times. When we pulled into a campground on the last night of our trip the slide-out would not operate. The wife had brought the slide to the in position that morning, everything worked as it normally does, when she attempted run the slide to the out position, nothing! There are two rocker switches on the bedroom control switch, one says auto and manual, the other is in and out. Nothing happens when you push the button to out, if you push the button to in you'll hear a click coming from the motor. There are two access hatches in the bottom of the slide to get at the motor end and opposite end of the drive, I see three wires coming from the motor that go somewhere unknown to man, and a breaker in the fuse box that was untripped. Any suggestions on what the problem could be????
All help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the switch failed.... This is a common problem

If you can remove the switch (perhaps the entire switch plate) you will likely see either 3 or 4 (I'm guessing 3) if there are indeed 3 wires swap the top and bottom one.. Now in is out and out is in.. That should get you home

The switches on my slides are so good.... I put in a spare switch

sounds like switch to me also. I would yank the switch like staed and connect the wires manually to check for a bad switch.

Mine has a controller module at the 12v power panel with a fuse. could be the fuse or the control module.

Control module has two relays on it,one "Open"and one"Close".

I had a bad module, with cold solder connection, between the relay and printed circuit board. Was able to resolder to restore relay operation.

If you have multiple slides, swap electrical connector between known good control module,to eliminate control module as source of problem.

The motor click in one switch position but not the other might say bad switch, for sure. But as heavy said, look for your control module. My Power Gear module is under the kitchen sink, near the slide control switches. It can go bad, and it also has a fuse.

This may have zero to do with your problem, I'm saying you can't perform diagnostics until you've found all the associated circuitry/controls, and sometimes that's the hardest part.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I took the suggestion to remove the switch from the wall, there are 5 wires going into a plug-in module on the back of the switch. Apparently not a common two-way switch, BUT, when I went to verify to myself which direction the motor would click, I had to re-engage the coach battery shut-off. When I did, everything works as normal again. I ran the slide in and out a few times, all seems to be well. Is it possible that shutting down the coach battery circuit yesterday after trying to trouble shoot the problem, actually reset the slide circuit??
I have to get a state inspection done next Thursday and was going to have the slide checked, but if I can't duplicate the problem, they won't find a problem.
Thanks again,
Jer

I don`t know if it`s possible or not, but is sounds like it. What make and model is the TT? I am new to this stuff. It sounds like a valuable piece of info to know if they`re commonly wired like this. Keep us posted, will you? I`m curious to know what you find out. Good luck.

sounds to me like the switch may still be the intermittent problem. If the allegator crawlsa out of the swwamp again. Just tappey tap on the se=witch for the extend mode and maybe it will make contact and come to life.

ps My circuit boards/modules had automatic reset circuit breakers on them.

That on and off flash may have got something flowing in the board again. Who knows

Thanks for the post back. Most times we don't hear success stories.

Another ongoing problem that I have had,is the electrical connector at the control module.Slide does not extend or retract, reseat electrical connector, slide again becomes operational kind of thing.
