There are sections that are up to about 6%, from memory, about the same as the steepest I've seen on an Interstate. As noted, watch the speed limits. If the weather is good, no problems. I once came through there on my way north in mid December, in a veritable blizzard. It came on very fast, and I lost traction (towing my 28' trailer with an Express Van) about half way up one of the runs. I got over to the inside lane, waited till a few tractor trailers ground by at 20 mph to clear the lane a bit, then got going and up the hill. By far the worst weather I have ever driven in. By the time I got home (Hamilton, Ontario) the next day I'd literally driven through snow 12" deep, got stuck in a gas station parking lot, the works. As long as I stayed with the semi's, I was fine. Saw lots of 4WD pickups in the median, though - they thought they were special and could pass the line of slow moving transport trucks... But I digress...

It's a fine road. There is one long steep grade (9%, I believe) between Beckley and Oak Hill. You'll have no prob with a DP. As mentioned, watch your speed through the towns. Summersville, in particular. They have zero tolerance for speeders.
All 4 lane divided highway, a few steep grades, but a very good road with nice scenery. Actually in better shape then a lot of Interstates I've been on.
