I think that I have about made my mind up to trade my current FW in on an '08 Jayco 299RLS. I would like your opinions of Jayco's in general and this trailer specifically, if you have any experience with it, or just have an opinion you would like to share. Thanks.

I am currently vacating @ OBX in my Jayco. As usual loving it,I will also purchase another Jayco but there are other great brands also.Rv market very competive.
If the model is a Eagle Superlite and is a early built 08' you may want to confirm with Jayco using the vin# that it wasn't affected by the delaminating floor issue several people had. Basically, the glue lets go, the laminated floor starts to seperate creating a ridge in the floor and soft spots.
Overall as DURACO said, Jayco is one of several very good brands in that price point. I would also shop Crossroads, Pilgrim, Sunnybrook and other's.

Our Jayco is our second one and have always enjoyed them and have been trouble free for us.I have also owned a Keystone and a Carriage, but the Jayco's have by far been our favorite. Both our Jayco's have been Designers so haven't have a experience with your model.
Our 2005 Jayco Eagle has also been a great unit, very solid, reliable and an excellent value for the money.
We would buy another without hesitation.
We have owned Sunnybrook, Sunline, Nomad and several PU's.
I have an 08 299RLS - just came back from a week at Shaver Lake. I have not had any major problems with it. The only issue was the rivets in the shower were not attached to the wall as they should have been. They are Eagles, not the Super-Lite version, and use plywood in the floor so the delaminating floor issue mentioned above is not an issue.
Well this is our second Jayco and we love it. Good bang for your buck. Solid product and good factory support when needed. I mention this because we had a problem with our couch stitching and when we told them about it...the replaced the whole couch, not just the cushion. We're looking forward to our next trip out in August.
